2010 – 2011

Owen was handed the legendary number 7 shirt that worn by many United’s legendary players over the years, including Johnny Berry, Geoge Best, Steve Coppell, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, David Beckham, and the latest wearer Cristiano Ronaldo who transferred to Real Madrid.

Owen renowned as “scoring machine” upon his debut as he scored multiple goals in pre-season friendly matches, competitive matches and Champions League matches, led United to past the fourth round of the League Cup.

2011 – 2012

Owen started the 2011 – 2012 season by scored two goals in the first half match contenting Leeds United, helped United to progress to the fourth round with a 3 – 0 win.

On 2 November 2011, Owen played in United’s home Champions League group stage match against Otelul Galati but was substituted early in the first half due to a thigh injury; this was his last appearance for the team. 6 months later, Owen announced on Twitter that he and Manchester United decided to part ways.
